Unconsious man outside of Channing-Bowditch apartments pronounced dead

Police were seen congregating outside of the Channing-Bowditch Apartments around 12:12 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a person unconscious in a parked car, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White.

White said that Berkeley Fire Department arrived on scene and determined that the unconscious man, in his mid 50’s, was dead.

Alameda County Coroner’s Office then responded to the report and did not find any obvious signs of trauma.

BPD is awaiting the corner’s office report of the cause of death, according to White.
