Amber Miller will step down as dean of the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences on June 15, Provost Andrew Guzman announced in an email to Dornsife faculty, staff and students Wednesday afternoon. In the same email, Guzman wrote that he would announce an interim dean in the near future.

Miller will leave the University to become president of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation — the ninth-wealthiest grantmaking foundation in the world as of 2023, known to promote progressive causes.

Miller became the 22nd dean of Dornsife — the oldest and largest school at the University — in July 2016. During her time in the position, she oversaw over 1,700 faculty and staff members and managed an annual budget of over $500 million.
