Willie Warren was signed by the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday, officially joining the team which drafted him in the second round of the NBA draft.
Warren will join former teammate Blake Griffin, who sat out his entire rookie campaign last season with a knee injury.
The dual guard averaged a team-best 16.3 points, while also posting 3.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 21 games as a sophomore last season for the Sooners.
OU would finish 13-18, posting its first losing season and worst in more than a decade under fourth-year head coach Jeff Capel.
As a freshman, Warren averaged 14.6 points per game, second behind Griffin, as he was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and helped lead the team to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.
The Clippers selected the Fort Worth, Texas, native with the 54th pick in the draft, making the team the only one in the NBA to have two OU players on the roster.
Teammate Keith “Tiny” Gallon was selected at No. 47 by the Milwaukee Bucks, while Tommy Mason-Griffin went undrafted. Both played just one season before declaring for the draft.
Gallon held averages of 10.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, leading the team in the latter category. Mason-Griffin averaged 14.1 points and 5.0 assists per game, leading the Sooners in assists for the year.
