Zone Read AM: Oregon lacrosse hosts Dartmouth in season opener, Chicago Blackhawks earn best start in NHL history

In their season opener, the women’s lacrosse team challenges Dartmouth today at Papé Field for just the second time in school history. The match begins at 12 p.m.

The only previous match between the two schools was played on March 23, 2011 at Dartmouth and the Big Green were victorious 12-10 over the Ducks.

Nine players from Oregon’s 2013 team participated in the lone meeting between the Ducks and Big Green in 2011.

The Ducks enter this season as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation’s (MPSF) defending champion. They finished last season with a perfect 7-0 record and then defeated California and Stanford in the conference tournament to advance to the NCAA Play-In Match, where they eventually lost to Navy, 10-9, in overtime.

Oregon was picked second in the MPSF Preseason Coaches’ Poll, just behind Stanford.  The Ducks are returning 18 players from their 2012 season.
