The ninth ranked Oregon softball team will play the New Mexico Lobos today in the 40th home opener for the Ducks. The double-header will start at 2 p.m. today at Howe Field.

The last time these two teams faced off was in 2012, with the Lobos rallying back to beat Oregon 7-6 in the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe.

In their first 25 games, the Ducks have tacked on 21 wins. However, the Pac-12 proves to be a tough conference with Oregon being one of six conference teams with 20 wins already for the season.

According to ESPN, USC’s starting center Dewayne Dedmon and fellow big man James Blasczyk were suspended indefinitely after allegations of the pair’s involvement in a brawl this past weekend in Spokane, Washington.

Interim coach Bob Cantu said the allegations resulted in violations of an unspecified team rule. However, it is unclear whether both players will be allowed to play to USC’s first game of the Pac-12 Conference tournament tonight in Las Vegas.

Dedmon has started 29 of 31 games this season. The redshirt junior averages 6.7 points and leads the team in rebounds per game with 7.

Senior Blasczyk has played in 21 games, averaging 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds.
