After dropping four spots in the second round, the University of Oregon women’s golf team rallied back to tie for sixth place with No. 6 ranked Arizona and San Jose State in the NCAA West Regionals. With the win, they will advance to the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga.

The Ducks (292-297-300-889) cut it close in the final round of play as they passed up No. 12 Purdue (291-286-283-860) to conclude the three-day, three-round competition.

It was only fitting that Casey Isagawa (69-70-72-211) paced the Ducks one last time in the NCAA West Regionals as she shot a 1-over 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for fifth place overall in the individual standings. She has stepped up as one of the key leaders will be crucial moving forward.

Also finishing well was freshman Caroline Iinglis (72-71-76-219) who finished in a tie for 22nd place after recording the second best scores for the Ducks in three consecutive rounds. Rounding out the Ducks were Cali Hipp (74-80-78-232) and Avery Sills (77-81-74-232), who both finished in a tie for 85th place.

On the horizon: The Ducks will now take a couple weeks off before heading to the NCAA Championships on May 21-24 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga. For all news and recaps check back here at the Emerald.
