“Only one team can end the season without a loss,” said head coach Kyla Holas in a statement. “It’s one of those things that is hard to take, but we’ve got a great group returning and we’re really excited for them. I’m really going to miss those seniors — Reina, Holly and Julia. They’ve been fantastic to work with and I’m disappointed for them that the season is ending today.”

Although the Cougars season is now finished, they reached the 40-win mark, which only four UH softball teams have accomplished, as they posted a 41-20 record.

“We still had another 40-plus win season with 20 losses or less,” Holas said. “As long as we keep doing what we’re known for and what we take pride in, hopefully this next class will be rewarded and go even farther. We’ll build off this season and be better next year because of this.”
