The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will host a free showing of the French animated film, “The Painting,” tonight at 8:30 p.m. outside of the museum’s front entrance in the quad.
“Screening will feature the English version of the film,” said Debbie Williamson Smith, the museum’s communications manager.
“The Painting” has won multiple awards throughout its run in the film festival circuit, including winning the award for Best Feature Film at the Festival of European Animated Feature Films and TV Specials.
According to Smith, the film is very family-friendly, and non-alcoholic beverages will be served at the screening.
The outdoor screening of “The Painting” is one of many summer activities that the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is hosting over the summer. Some other upcoming summer events put on by the museum will be a Dig Into Art History forum, hosted by curator Danielle Knapp on Aug. 3. The seminar will discuss the history of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum, starting all the way from when it was founded in 1934.
On Aug.9, the museum will host award-winning singer and songwriter Halie Loren, who will be performing a small and intimate jazz concert.
