Preview: Emeralds vs. Canadians

Heading into the series, the Canadians sit atop of the Northwest League North, while the Emeralds sit in second in the Northwest League South respectively.

Getting the start on the mound for the Emeralds in the opening game will be right-handed pitcher Jimmy Brasoban. Brasoban enters the series with a 2-2 record along with a 3.16 ERA. Facing up against Brasoban for the Canadians will be left-handed pitcher Scott Silverstein who enters the game with an 0-1 record and a 7.47 ERA. Considering it is still very early in the second half of the season, both pitchers could make a significant impact for their teams and themselves in this series.

At the end of the first half of the season, the Canadians finished with a solid 22-16 record to place second in their league, while the Emeralds finished third with a dismal 13-25 record. But as a new half of the season continues, both teams will virtually enter this series with a clean slate; something the Emeralds have been looking forward to in their recent stretch of games.

Game time is set for a 7:05 p.m. start at PK Park.
