Fairview Health Services announced its new president and CEO Tuesday.
Rulon Stacey, who is currently the president of University of Colorado Health, will begin Nov. 4.
The Fairview health system serves more than 625,000 people a year and includes the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview.
Charles Mooty, who has been serving as Fairview’s interim CEO since July of last year, said the board of directors is “thrilled” by the appointment.
“Every health system Rulon has touched throughout his career has dramatically improved clinical quality and patient experience,” he said in a press release. “Under his leadership, I am confident Fairview patients and families will see care and service continue to get better and better.”
Stacey, a graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Colorado, served as CEO of Poudre Valley Health System for 16 years before it merged with the University of Colorado Hospital last year to become UCH.
In the press release, Stacey specifically cited looking forward to working with the University.
“Fairview and its partner, the University of Minnesota, are already well respected organizations nationally,” he said, “and I look forward to joining them in their quest to continually improve and grow.”
