Faculty and staff were warned Friday that CryptoLocker malware has been detected in emails at a UH System component campus.
Suspicious emails have been sent out from campus email addresses with a zip file attached. Opening this attachment can infect a computer with malware.
No malicious emails have been found at the UH main campus.
University IT Security recommends that computer users not open any attachments or click any links and delete suspicious messages immediately. Users should remain alert for such messages coming from UH System addresses.
Students, faculty and staff may contact UIT Security with concerns at security@uh.edu or 832-842-4695.
