The diverse choices for dining, entertainment, business and education make Houston a good city for 20-somethings.

“Houston is the most diverse city in the nation and that diversity is our strength,” said Mayor Annise Parker. “We look today like the rest of the nation will look in years to come.  Due to this diversity, we are more tolerant and accepting of the differences among us.”

“Houston: A City Without Limits,” is designed by the Greater Houston Partnership to motivate young professionals to make this metropolis their home.

Art history graduate Catherine Gonzales, originally from Austin, did just that.

“I think that coming to school and now living and working here has definitely influenced my drive and ambition. The energy of Houston has taught me to work hard. That is what I love about it,” Gonzales said.

Launched this summer, the campaign emphasizes the diversity and limitless possibilities that Houston offers.

“We care more about what you have to offer than where you came from,” Parker said. “When this open and accepting approach is added to Houston’s availability of jobs, attractive cost of living and cultural offerings, there simply isn’t another city that meets what we can offer.”

The affordability and diversity of Houston’s neighborhoods are what hold the attention of several upcoming graduates, like music education senior Gio Fuentes.

“Seeing artists perform and act and live is absolutely inspiring to my own creativity as an artist. They are the only reason I would even consider living here after I graduate,” Fuentes said.

This campaign will also reach out to young professionals across the United States in order to bring them to the Bayou City. Through events like CityFest, held this past Saturday at Discovery Green, many Houston organizations like MFAH, the Astros, Salinas Salsa, Co., Treebeards and local musicians represent various cultural opportunities across Houston.
