Freshmen have career day in final round of Stanford Intercollegiate

Freshmen Kathleen Scavo and Petra Salko both recorded career low scores in the final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate Tuesday. The Ducks moved up a spot to finish in 10th out of 17th teams.

Scavo and Salko both rebounded from off days in the second round to finish with career best scores in the final day of play. Scavo, who shot a five-over par on Sunday, finished at even par on the last day, ending the tourney at eleven-over par. After shooting 2-over par on Saturday and 4-over par on Sunday, Salko came back to shoot a one-under par on the final day, to finish a team best six-over par and tied for 23rd overall in the tournament.

Senior captain Caroline Inglis rebounded from a rough first day where she shot a five-over par, to shoot one-over and three-over in the last two days respectively.

The Ducks had rough start to the tournament, shooting their worst score on the first day (eighteen-over par) and ending in 14th place. Over the next two days however, Oregon posted a score of thirteen-over par over and moved up four spots. They finished with a final score of 884, thirty-two-over par. The host and eventual winner of the tournament, Stanford, was the only team to end with a final score under par.

The Ducks will wrap up their fall season in two weeks with the Pac-12 Preview in Kailua Kona, Hawai’i, running from November 2-3.
