Oregon point guard Maite Cazorla has been named Pac-12 freshman of the week for the second consecutive time, the Pac-12 announced on Monday morning.

The award is the third of the season for the Las Palmas, Spain native.

Cazorla helped the Ducks to a pair of road wins over Washington State and Washington over the weekend. She shot 53.3 percent from the field and drained four 3-pointers in the third quarter against WSU.

Cazorla had 11 points in the second half, including three 3-pointers, in an upset win over No. 24 Washington. She averaged 15.5 points a game and shot 53.3 percent from 3-point range against the Washington schools.

Her weekend effort has her averaging 17.8 points per game over her last four. Over that same span, she’s been 12-of-22 from three-point range. Her assist average of 6.0 per game ranks No. 2 in the conference and first among freshmen in the country.

“I feel like Maite is gaining a lot of confidence,” Oregon guard Lexi Petersen said after Saturday’s practice in Seattle. “She’s shooting really well and she’s doing a lot for us. She’s been asked to do a lot since she got her, but I think now that she’s gotten used to the coaches and the system, she’s been incredible.”
