Jillian Alleyne and Maite Cazorla swept the Pac-12 weekly awards on Monday. Alleyne was named player of the week, and on Wednesday afternoon she made the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 list.
Alleyne is one of three Pac-12 players to make the list, which is voted on by a pool of national media members who cover women’s basketball. The Wooden Award is given annually to the nation’s top female player.
The Fontana, California native is averaging 18.6 points a game and 13.6 rebounds a game. She’s also shot the ball efficiently, currently averaging 58.1 percent from the field.
She remains in contention for the three major player of the year awards nationally in the Wooden Award, the Naismith Trophy and the Ann Meyers Drysdale honor.
The Wooden Award All-American Team — the nation’s top five players — will be announced the week of the Final Four.
Alleyne and the Ducks have their final regular season home games upcoming with No. 12 UCLA on Friday and USC on Sunday.
