A man was arrested for disrupting classes, damaging property and intimidating students in Deady and Straub Halls on Monday afternoon, according to UOPD.
UOPD first received a report of Elias Martinez, 18, of Eugene, disrupting a class on the third floor of Deady Hall just before 4 p.m. Before officers arrived at Deady, he went to Straub Hall where he “disrupted another class, yelled at students, destroyed personal property and made threats,” according to the report.
After dispatch officers observed Martinez’s actions on Straub Hall security cameras, UOPD took him into custody before 4:20 p.m. He was eventually taken to Lane County Jail, where will likely be booked on charges of second and third-degree criminal mischief, harassment and criminal trespassing.
Martinez had previously been banned from UO property, according to UOPD.
