Rain delays women’s tennis’ chance at redemption

Charlotte 49ers women’s tennis hit the road this past week to battle in-state rivals Elon.

Charlotte began the afternoon falling behind 1-0 after the Tyler Baker/Macy Vonderschmidt tandem claimed the only victory in three doubles matches with the Phoenix.

In the singles showdown, Sierra Stone and Alexandra Lee claimed victory in the latter positions while Victoria Pahlett and Tai Martin saw close decisions in their respective matches.

After a chance of rain postponed their weekend matchup back home against USC Upstate, the 49ers will prepare for a midweek meeting with Dayton, Thursday, March 24 at 1 p.m. at Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
