A shooting that injured two Muslim men early Wednesday morning in the Dinkytown area will be investigated as a possible “bias motivated crime,” according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
At about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, two victims were shot near the intersection of 14th Avenue Southeast and 6th Street Southeast, about one block from the University of Minnesota.
In the attack, an assailant allegedly made disparaging remarks about Muslims before firing at five men dressed in Islamic attire, according to a campus-wide public safety update issued Friday afternoon.
