Alabama remains at the top of this week’s AP Poll while the rest of the teams in contention for the college football playoff had a rough weekend. Three of the top four teams in the nation lost this weekend in one of the wildest Saturday’s in recent memory.
No. 3 Clemson dropped to No. 5 this week after a 43-42 loss to Pittsburgh. No. 4 Washington fell all the way to No. 7 after falling to No. 15 USC 26-13. No. 2 Michigan lost to Iowa 14-13 and sunk two spots to No. 4.
Oregon’s season continues to go downhill with a 52-27 loss to Stanford at home. Utah rose from No. 13 to No. 11 while Colorado continued to impress with a 49-24 win over Arizona to rise to No. 12. USC went from unranked to No. 15 after knocking off then No. 4 Washington.
Washington State jumped to No. 20, and the Cougars could jump into the national conversation next week if they were to pull off an upset of the No. 7 Huskies in Seattle.
