A faculty staff fellow was injured in an accident in the University of Houston Science Center (HSC) on Monday afternoon, according to UH Media Relations.
The researcher was alone in room 456 and was mixing chemicals when he suffered burns and lacerations to one of his arms, said Mike Rosen, the executive director of UH Media Relations. The researcher was transported to the hospital, where he is “awake and alert,” Rosen said.
There is no threat to the public, Rosen said, but HSC 456 will remain closed until it is cleaned.
The HSC is Building 593 on the UH Map and is across from the Athletics/Alumni Center.
