— Former Oregon men’s basketball player Dwayne Benjamin has signed a contract with the Geraldton Buccaneers of Australia. Benjamin, playing in his first year as a professional, began his post-Oregon career in the Danish Ligaen where he averaged 12.6 points a game and 4.0 rebounds.

— The Register-Guard on Thursday reported that Oregon football spent $2,459 on a Eugene Police Department motorcycle escort while visiting local high schools. The school said the money came from the program’s recruiting budget.

— Oregon football announced through a news release on Thursday that it will ramp up its National Signing Day efforts on Feb. 1. Coaches, including new head coach Willie Taggart, will appear in Eugene, Bend and Portland to interact with fans.

— The club men’s rugby team has seen an uptick in interest and is looking to make its way back to nationals.

— During Wednesday’s Oregon baseball media day, the team tampered expectations compared to past years. Emerald reporter Zak Laster has the dispatch from PK Park.

— Oregon track and field is in action this weekend at the Columbia East-West Challenge. The Ducks will look to qualify a number of runners for the NCAA indoor meet in March.
